Fuel typology

  • SWIP (Small Waste Incineration Plants): the decentralised model par excellence for processing volumes below 3 tonnes/hour (< 20 MWt). SWIPs challenge the dogma of scale with unbeatable thermodynamic engineering. They represent a low-risk, fast-track investment, ideal for complementing flagship plants or providing autonomy to local authorities and private industries.
  • BIO (Biomass and recovered organic fraction): solutions designed for industries with waste suitable for energy recovery. Using cutting-edge technology, these plants achieve combustion of complex fuels (up to 50% ash and 70% moisture), transforming biomass into a stable energy resource for the paper, chemical, and wood industries.

Obtained energies

  • Power generation: Production of synchronous electricity with high availability (up to 24/7) using conventional steam turbines or ORC (Organic Rankine Cycle) technology. This generated energy enables full self-consumption by the facility or direct export to the power grid.
  • Thermal generation: Production of continuous, stable industrial heat (steam, thermal oil, or hot water) to supply urban district networks (District Heating) or provide thermal autonomy to adjacent industry.

The TVE line is designed for energy recovery from fractions with high calorific value. Thermal oxidation is the key method, and this line is aimed at sectors that handle municipal solid waste, sludge generated in wastewater treatment plants, and recoverable materials with energy potential.

The core purpose of TVE is the energy recovery of waste, using the energy contained in fractions with high LHV. This is achieved through thermal oxidation, transforming material that would otherwise go to landfill.

Operation

Thermal oxidation technologies and boiler systems to maximise LHV utilisation

The solution operates through thermal oxidation, a process designed to harness the LHV of the incoming stream. The combustion technologies used include moving grate, powder injection, bubbling furnace, and fluidised bed. The resulting heat is transferred to heat-transfer fluids (water, steam, or thermal oil) via specialised boilers.

We offer modular configurations that combine the best technology at each stage of the process. Scalable and adapted to the needs of each client:

  • Combustion systems: step grate combustion (SGC) for stable flows, or Rotary Kiln Combustion (RKC) ideal for more critical materials.
  • Heat transfer systems: integration of our advanced Horizon+ thermal oil boiler (HZB) or, alternatively, superheated process steam boilers (SPB).
  • Emission control systems: comprehensive gas treatment using advanced technology, such as ceramic bag filters.
  • Power generation: via steam turbines or ORC systems
