HZB Horizon+ Thermal Oil Boiler

Industrial boiler with horizontal rotating design. It is a heat exchanger specifically designed to work with gases from solid waste combustion.

Thanks to its unique rotating design, the Horizon+ offers continuous cleaning and automatic ash extraction, enabling energy recovery from gases with high dust and ash content without shutdowns or efficiency losses.

It is specially designed for intensive use (over 8,000 h/year) in energy recovery plants for solid by-products (both biomass-based and waste-derived) with high impurity content and/or low ash melting points, which may cause ash accumulation on the exchange bodies.

  • Guaranteed Consistent Performance: The continuous rotary movement achieves an always-clean exchange surface, unlike traditional systems that lose performance due to accumulated dirt.
  • Automatic Cleaning and Extraction: The rotating design enables automatic ash extraction without the need to stop the installation. Additionally, it features a particle discharge cleaning system.
  • Variable Fuel Admission: It has the capacity to accept combustion gases of variable nature. This is reinforced by the addition of a chemical granulate that traps and filters particles and promotes reactions to prevent degradation of the exchange body.
  • Operational Savings: By not requiring compressed air cleaning systems, it avoids the cost of acquisition, pipe installation, and associated electrical consumption.

  1. Gas / ash inlet

    This is the point where gases and solid particles enter the equipment.

  2. Heat exchanger

    These are 3 concentric, coiled coils through which the thermal fluid circulates, capturing the combustion gases.

  3. Combustion gas path

    The gases travel through the passages between the coils, transferring heat to the thermal fluid.

  4. Ash path

    The ash concentrates in the lower part of the equipment, where the rotary motion forces it to move through the spaces between the coils.

Operation

Self-cleaning in motion

The boiler body rotates at low speed on its axis. This movement, combined with the coil configuration, generates an effect that conducts suspended ash particles to a discharge outlet. Particle discharge cleaning is performed continuously without the need to stop the installation.
