Industrial waste is highly heterogeneous and requires complex, very specifically designed facilities. It generally has low density and is mostly large in size, which necessitates rigorous design of treatment facilities. Its low moisture content makes the non-recoverable fraction of this waste an ideal alternative fuel due to its high calorific value.

Type of waste entering the plant

Non-hazardous industrial waste constitutes a highly heterogeneous material flow that typically exhibits low density and large size. This type of waste is characterized by low moisture content, which makes its non-recoverable fraction an ideal alternative fuel thanks to its high calorific value. Both recyclable materials with high commercial value and components with high energy capacity are found in the incoming process.

Recoverable materials obtained

  • Dry recoverable materials: rigid plastics, cardboard, paper, wood, and textiles.
  • Metals: ferrous and non-ferrous metals (aluminum, etc.).
  • Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF): light fraction with a high calorific value, purified from heavy elements and chlorides, ready for energy recovery.
  • Inerts and fines: Stones, sand, glass, or rubble mechanically separated for recycling or proper disposal.

Operation

Power and precision in industrial treatment

The treatment process in an industrial waste plant requires heavy machinery that operates synchronously:

  • Heavy Reception and Feeding: Raw industrial material typically enters the line, propelled by grabs or loading shovels, onto chain and plate conveyors (PB series), designed to withstand high tonnages and dose the material. For bulky waste sorting areas, horizontal roller conveyors with high impact absorption (PSM Series) are used.
    Primary Particle Size Screening: High-capacity trommel screens (including armored versions for rubble) separate the flow by size. Thick steel meshes (10 mm to 15 mm) resist abrasion and extract fines and inert materials.
  • Light and Heavy Material Purification: The shredded material passes through our Impurity Separator (Windsifter – MW Series). Using high-power air blowing and accelerating belts, this equipment precisely separates light material (future RDF) from heavy elements (stones, metals), protecting subsequent machinery from wear and breakage.
  • Ballistic Separation and Recovery: The purified flow is processed in Ballistic Separators to isolate rolling elements (3D) from flat ones (2D), allowing magnetic and optical sorting equipment to capture recyclable materials with excellent purity for return to industry.
