OC Open Crash
To ensure the efficient release of materials arriving in bags at treatment plants, Bianna has developed the OC series of bag openers. These are slow-rotation single-rotor machines characterized by maximum operational efficiency and low operating costs. Their design guarantees bag opening while avoiding aggressiveness towards the contained material, a key factor in increasing the effectiveness and success of any subsequent sorting and valuable material recovery process.
Maximum opening efficiency, minimum aggressiveness. High effectiveness in waste recovery with low operating costs.
High Efficiency
Achieves a bag opening rate exceeding 95%.
Non-aggressive treatment
Opens bags without crushing or excessively damaging the contents, facilitating subsequent sorting (especially for glass or packaging).
Total control
The rotor speed is adjustable via a frequency inverter, and the tooth spacing is adjustable (from 5 mm to 150 mm).
Operational safety
It features a control system (Siemens S7 PLC) that allows for rotor reversal or automatic shutdown in the presence of "difficult" or unsuitable materials.
Low operating costs
Designed for simple maintenance and optimized energy consumption.
This non-aggressive opening equipment uses a slow-rotation rotor (up to 12 rpm) driven by an electric motor and a planetary gearbox. It is available in several models (OC 180/40, OC 180/75, and OC 250/75) with capacities reaching up to 140 m³/h, depending on the material processed.

Where Efficient Recovery Begins
- Opening at the start of the line: They are installed at the beginning of treatment lines (reception) to tear open waste bags and dose the material.
- Preparation for Mechanical Separation: By emptying and spreading the contents of the bags, they perfectly prepare the different fractions (2D planar, 3D rolling, fines, and organic) so that downstream trommels, ballistic, and optical separators work at their maximum performance without losing hidden materials.

Especificaciones técnicas
Tolva de alimentación
The closed bags enter through the top and fall directly onto the cutting roller.
Fixed or interchangeable teeth
The rotor incorporates a series of ripping teeth arranged in a spiral that open the bags by tearing them against fixed teeth.
Fixed teeth
The bag opener teeth tear the bags without shredding the contents.
Material discharge
All contents, now out of the bags, fall below the equipment onto the next conveyor belt.

Operation
Cutting engineering for perfect opening
The bagged material enters through the upper hopper and falls onto the rotor. This rotor rotates at low speeds (0 to 12 rpm), dragging the bags with it thanks to the spirally arranged teeth. As it passes through the narrow gap (“cutting gap”) between the rotor and the static counter-blade of the movable gate, the bags are torn open by the shearing effect. Finally, the liberated material falls by gravity into the discharge hopper or onto the lower conveyor, continuing its journey through the plant.
