Transforming waste into clean, high-value energy

Project details for Ertasa
The Tarazona S.A. Renewable Energies facility (Erta) is a clear example of industrial symbiosis aimed at decarbonization. The plant specializes in utilizing forestry and agricultural waste for the production of solid biofuels. Instead of allowing uncontrolled burning or landfill decomposition of this organic waste, the plant processes, grinds, and densifies it to produce efficient organic pellets. This process reduces the carbon footprint and adds significant value to agricultural and forestry waste.
- Fuel Type (TVS) Biomass
- Recovery Preparation for energy recovery. Its mission is to transform tons of agroforestry waste into a highly demanded energy vector to replace gas or diesel in industrial and residential boilers.
- Types of recovered fractions Clean chipped biomass and conditioned organic pine bark
