USC Underfeed Stocker Combustion

Combustion system, designed as a monobloc combustion chamber with a self-supporting structure.

The USC Underfeed Stoker Furnace, designed as a robust monobloc unit, ensures maximum extraction of calorific value from solid fuels and biomass, offering an automated process and rapid implementation at your plant.

The Underfeed Stocker Combustion is a moving grate furnace with a monoblock design (fully manufactured at our facilities for rapid on-site implementation) and a self-supporting structure. Its robust interior design includes high-alumina refractory brick, ensuring superior resistance, complemented by insulating brick, perlite, and an outer protective shell. It incorporates lateral inclined grates made of special chrome cast iron to withstand extreme conditions.

Especificaciones técnicas

  1. Material infeed

Loading area designed to dose the material at a constant rate. 2

  2. Screw feeder

Mechanical system that uses a rotating spiral to move the fuel from the loading area into the combustion chamber.

  3. Combustion chamber

Lined space where the material is burned to produce hot gases.

  4. Primary air

Combustion activator. This is the injected air that provides the oxygen required to sustain the flame.

  5. Flue gases

Hot air flow that rises from the burner, transferring heat to the heat exchange bodies as it rises.

  6. Secondary air

Provides the oxygen required to complete combustion.

  7. Ash

Non-combustible material that falls by gravity into the lower hoppers to be removed from the system.

Operation

Optimized combustion through air control

The loading system is automatic, typically via an auger and rotary valve or triple gate feeder. Combustion takes place on inclined grates. Combustion air management is key: primary air is injected below the grates (acting as a coolant for mechanisms and as an oxidizer) and also above the fuel in the distillation zone to maximize efficiency.
