SS PEBD Suction System
The film suction system (PEBD) is a technical solution designed for the automatic separation of lightweight plastics and films from the rest of the waste stream. It is an essential component for improving the purity of recovered fractions and preventing operational problems in other plant machinery.
Its implementation in treatment plants ensures optimal separation of the plastic film fraction.
High Selectivity
Enables efficient separation of plastic film, which is difficult to classify with other mechanical methods.
Automation
Reduces dependence on manual sorting for the removal of bags and lightweight plastics.
Flexibility
The system is adjustable to adapt to different belt widths and material loads.
Maintenance
Robust design with filtering and separation systems (cyclones) that facilitate management of suctioned material.
Quality Improvement
By eliminating film in early stages, it prevents it from "wrapping" or covering other valuable materials, improving the efficiency of optical separators.
This is a selective pneumatic capture system. It uses a suction hood strategically positioned above the conveyor belt that, through a controlled air stream, suctions low-density materials (such as plastic bags and films) without affecting heavier materials.

Intelligent Film Capture for Maximum Recovery
- Flow cleaning: removal of lightweight plastics in light packaging (LWP) or MSW lines.
- Equipment protection: prevents film from tangling in trommel shafts or ballistic separators.
- Material conditioning: preparation of the rolling fraction (3D) so that optical separators have a clean reading.

Especificaciones técnicas
Impulsion fan
Generates an adjustable airflow to direct the LDPE towards the collection area.
Transport piping
Ducts that carry the LDPE from the hood to the rotary valve for discharge.
Condenser
The rotary valve regulates the LDPE output and maintains the efficiency of the suction system for the settled LDPE. The LDPE is discharged through the bottom, while the air continues toward the final filtration system.
Bag filter
Equipment responsible for retaining dust and fine particles. It ensures a clean and impurity-free exhaust air.
Film material outlet
Clean air outlet

Operation
Aerodynamic Precision to Capture Value
The operation is based on precise aerodynamic calculation. In the suction cabin, located at the material transfer point, there is a blowing nozzle (which propels recirculated air) and a suction nozzle that are perfectly aligned. The air propulsion helps the lightweight plastic draw a perfect parabola toward the capture point. An adjustable interior deflector further optimizes this path.
Once the plastic enters the pipeline, a high-power centrifugal fan transports it to the rotary valve condenser (or rotary disc). There, the solid plastic is decanted and separated from the air stream, falling by gravity. Finally, the air with suspended particles is conducted to a bag filter where it is cleaned before being recirculated back to the beginning of the process for propulsion.
