The BTO thermal oil boiler is a machine designed and manufactured to transfer thermal energy from combustion gases to a thermal oil that acts as a heat transfer fluid. It is presented in vertical execution and is available in different configurations depending on the operating regime and the fuel to be treated. It consists of a body subjected to radiation and another subjected to convection to maximize efficiency. Its design ensures minimal presence of refractory concrete inside to minimize OPEX.

Industrial Heat from Multiple Energy Sources

The Thermal Oil Boiler (BTO) is designed for industrial heat generation from various sources, such as biomass, RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel), or fossil fuels. It is ideal for energy recovery, including the recovery of all types of biomass, energy production with heterogeneous materials, and wastewater treatment residue recovery (sludge).

  1. Gas inlet

    Energy intake: This is the lower section where high-temperature gases enter to begin transferring heat. 2

  2. Triple-pass heat exchanger

    Two concentric coiled coils designed to absorb energy from the combustion gases 3

  3. Coil interconnection

    Upper zone where the thermal oil passes from the first to the second coil

  4. Ash

    Heavy particles that fall by gravity toward the lower sections to be removed from the system.

  5. Gas outlet

    Part of the boiler where gases are evacuated after having transferred their heat.

  6. Oil inlet

    The lower-temperature thermal fluid enters through the bottom connection of the equipment

  7. Internal oil process

    The oil circulates through the concentric spiral tube coils, constantly absorbing heat.

Operation

Thermal Exchange for Maximum Efficiency

The thermal oil boiler harnesses the energy contained in gases from combustion. Depending on the installation characteristics, it will consist of one or several heat exchange bodies between these gases and the thermal fluid. The first exchange body, radiation, absorbs the impact of abrasion and the temperature of combustion gases, while the convection body maximizes thermal exchange efficiency.
