DDR Drum dryer

Direct, in-line rotary drying system with drum. It consists of a carbon-steel cylinder that rotates at low speed and has a specific inclination. An advanced Two-Way Rotary Dryer design is available (two trommels in cascade).

A dryer designed for maximum thermal efficiency, dynamically adapting to the most complex materials. With its optimized flight architecture, it ensures optimal heat transfer and maximum operability at high temperatures.

The DDR is a carbon-steel cylinder that operates with variable inclination and rotational speed. Inside, it has flights to lift and turn the product, and inlet and outlet screws. The assembly wall is fully insulated to achieve low temperatures on the outer surface.

Main Applications within a Plant

Efficient dewatering for variable materials

It is designed for lines seeking to dewater materials with variable compositions. It is used in the bio-stabilized drying line, industrial materials recycling, treatment of feed rejects, and water treatment (wastewater sludge).

Especificaciones técnicas

  1. Material feed

Entry point for homogeneous waste requiring thermal treatment to reduce its moisture content.

  2. Dilution chamber

The hot gases generated by the burner are mixed with the air necessary to reach the required drying temperature and flow rate, ensuring the reduction of moisture in the material.

  3. Rotation system

The kiln has a slight inclination and rotates so that the material advances constantly. This combustion chamber ensures that the mixture of air and material is ideal for complete combustion.

  4. Turning system

The interior of the trommel features flights, as well as inlet and outlet propellers. In the loading area, there are scrapers that prevent agglomeration and facilitate feeding. The flights generate the "product rain" necessary in each section, ensuring efficient heat transfer and optimal evaporation.

  5. Material discharge

The material, now at the desired moisture level, is guided by the outlet blades toward the final discharge outlet for the next process.

  6. Gas outlet

The moisture-laden hot gases are suctioned toward an external treatment system to clean the flow before emission.

Operation

Progressive drying for maximum thermal efficiency

The material moves through the rotary cylinder. Heat transfer is maximized when the internal flights lift the product, exposing it to the drying air. Heat is generated using a burner (e.g., natural gas) and a dilution chamber to reduce the gas temperature to approximately 400°C before entering the dryer. The dryer is functionally divided into five sections: First Section (screw/scrapers) to facilitate conveying; Second Section (simple turners) for disintegration and contact with the maximum air temperature; Third Section (turner-lifters) to maximize the material “rain”; Fourth Section (lifters/volumetric diffuser) to increase the rain and complete drying; and Fifth Section (discharge screw) to evacuate the dried material.
