MW Windsifter
Bianna's Impurities Separator (Windsifter) is a robust, high-capacity equipment designed to separate light material from heavy material with millimetric precision. Its mission is to purify the waste stream from pretreatment, eliminating heavy and highly dense elements (such as metals or stones) to obtain high-purity light material. By ensuring this cleaning, the Windsifter becomes an ally to protect, reduce wear, and extend the service life of secondary shredders in treatment lines.
Densimetric separator for the separation of light material intended for SRF production, segregating heavy fractions (inerts) and protecting secondary shredders.
Superior Efficiency
Extremely high separation performance of light and heavy materials thanks to its optimized aerodynamic and mechanical design.
Total Adjustability
Allows automated regulation of banana belt speed, air blowing power, and vertical/horizontal position of elements to perfectly adapt to the densities of different materials.
Machinery Protection
Minimizes overall plant operation and maintenance costs by preventing improper and heavy materials from damaging secondary shredders.
"Zero Emissions" Closed Circuit System
Equipped with polyester bag filters and automatic cleaning by compressed air pulses, which purify the flow and allow clean air recirculation without generating dust in the installation.
Safe and Ergonomic Maintenance
Features platforms, stairs, interior LED lighting, 6 inspection windows, perimeter emergency stops, magnetic switches at access points, and eyebolts/lifelines to ensure 100% safe maintenance.
The Windsifter design is based on a highly advanced density separation system. It consists of a combined action: a curved conveyor (known as a “banana” belt), fully adjustable in position and speed, and a powerful air blowing system driven by a centrifugal fan. The equipment is completed with a large stabilization chamber to settle the material and an advanced suction system with bag filter, which cleans the used air and recirculates it in a closed circuit, preventing any dust emission outside the facility.

Cleaning and Protection for Maximum Quality SRF
- Cleaning in SRF Lines: It is the strategic equipment par excellence in the creation of Solid Recovered Fuels (SRF), ensuring that the final material meets the required purity standards.
- Pre-Shredding Protection: It is typically installed just before secondary shredders or refiners to remove any ferric, stone, or dense elements that may have escaped previous separators, preventing catastrophic breakage of shredding blades.

Especificaciones técnicas
Tolva de alimentación
Inlet point where mixed material is fed into the equipment to initiate density separation.
Heavy fraction
Dense material (stones, metals) that falls by gravity as it is not carried by the airflow. It is collected at the bottom in the equipment's heavy discharge area.
Light fraction
Less dense material (plastic, paper) that is propelled and carried by the air into the stabilization chamber, where it is discharged.
Banana-type conveyor
Its curved shape allows for the separation of light and heavy material. The light material continues above, reaching the stabilization chamber, while the heavy material falls by gravity.
Bag filter
The bag filter retains fine particles that are intended to be lifted by the air blast, preventing their release into the environment and allowing clean air to recirculate.
Stabilization chamber
Space within the equipment where the airflow becomes uniform and stable, preventing turbulence or eddies that would incorrectly carry the light fraction.
Air recirculation
System that allows the air from the equipment itself to be reused.
Clean air outlet
This is the point where the air, after passing through the bag filter, exits clean to the outside.
Light fraction outlet
Point where the light material, which has been carried by the airflow, is collected.

Operation
Efficient Separation by Air and Gravity
The material enters the equipment and falls onto the “banana” conveyor. Thanks to the belt speed, its curved shape, and the powerful directional air flow from the blowing hopper, separation occurs. The light material, having lower density, is propelled by the air and “flies” over the conveyor into the stabilization chamber. Inside this chamber, chain and plate screens prevent the light materials from continuing to float in the air flow, forcing them to fall by gravity toward the exit belt. On the other hand, heavy material that fails to overcome the curve of the banana conveyor or be pushed by the air falls directly by gravity toward its own reject chute or heavy material conveyor. Finally, the air laden with fine particles is aspirated, taken to the bag filter for cleaning, and returned clean to the impulsion fan to start the cycle again.
