The current socio-political and legislative climate is increasingly aligned with addressing the challenges of waste management. Investment in recycling and waste recovery technologies not only responds to an environmental need, but also represents a significant economic opportunity.
\nTo reach the 2030 targets, an investment of between \u20ac3.4 and \u20ac4.9 billion*<\/a>\u00a0is required.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For example, energy recovery from waste generates annual revenues of \u20ac273 million and a gross value added of \u20ac90 million, as well as directly employing more than a thousand workers in Spain*<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Furthermore, it is estimated to save \u20ac26.3 per MWh of electricity produced from waste, which contributes to more competitive electricity prices*<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>

In Spain, only 11% of waste is currently recovered energetically, while in countries such as Germany or Denmark, this percentage exceeds 30%*<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Implementing more energy recovery plants would not only contribute to achieving European waste reduction targets, but would also generate enough energy to supply millions of households, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and improving the country’s energy security.<\/p>\n<\/div>
